2008-2009 Spring Arts Festival

For the past two years I have volunteered my time, coordinating the group art projects for the Lake Mary Elementary' Spring Arts Festival. The objectives for these projects were to involve every student at Lake Mary Elementary in creating artwork that was to be sold at a Silent Auction, during the Festival. The Challenge of this task was to involve every student from every grade, and to create a beautiful finished product (that somebody would want to buy). The biggest challenge was that I only had one 45 minute art period with each class in, which to involve the students. The posts that follow are the results!

Grade Five Group Project_Circle Paintings!

Each student in the fifth grade painted one square with a circle. Each class was given a different color scheme.

All of the circles in each class were assembled and glued onto a stretched canvas to create magnificant works of art!

All paintings sold at the silent auction!

Grade Four Wacky Pet Magnets!

The fourth graders contributed by making refrigerator magnets. They created wacky pets, using collage techniques.

Many of these magnets sold for $1 each!

Grade Three Group Project- Apple and Pear Paintings!

Two large paintings were put together in a collaborative effort. Each third grader painted one square each.

The planning included, choosing a picture, simplifying the image, enlarging the image, numbering all of the shapes, customizing paint colors, cutting the squares, transferring the images onto each square and facilitating and administering the process of having the students paint the sqaures.
